Newt Gingrich had good things to say about a current reality show — including admitting that if he were invited to appear on the show, he would do it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the politician made the comments about Donald Trump’s "Celebrity Apprentice" in an interview with radio host Laura Ingraham.

"I’ve known the Donald — we’ve done fundraisers together. But look, I think Republicans would be so much better off and relaxed [to] go on shows like that and be interesting," Gingrich said.

Asked whether he would go on, he said, "Sure, why not?"

As for the show’s star, Gingrich said: "Donald Trump is a phenomenon. Donald Trump has no meaning in American politics except that he is a billionaire who is interesting and who is very clever at getting in the news."
