Simon Cowell, who has been behind such iconic talent competitions as “American Idol” and “The X Factor,” is creating yet another talent competition.

The U.K.’s Independent reports that Cowell’s production company Syco is working with YouTube on the show, “The You Generation,” which is Internet-based.

The contest launches this month and will allow people to make video auditions via YouTube. The contest will last for at least a year, and will award prizes for different skills — perhaps talents as wide-ranging as TV presenting, singing and cooking — every two weeks, the piece notes.

The competition is open to 26 territories and countries, including the U.S., Russia, the U.K. and much of southeast Asia, the story reports. An overall winner will be announced after the first 52 weeks.
