A television comedy writer who worked for four seasons on NBC’s "The Office" has died. Deadline.com reports that Lester Lewis died Tuesday night at 46. The report did not provide a cause of death.

Lewis worked as a consulting producer on “The Office.” He most recently executive produced and wrote a "shortcom" project for Fox that stars Michael Kosta and which is being considered for the network’s "Short-Com Comedy Hour" series this summer, the story says.

He also worked as a consulting producer on CBS’s "Partners," from David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, as well as on Kohan and Mutchnick’s NBC series "Four Kings."

"We are devastated by the loss of this incredible man and brilliant writer,” Kohan and Mutchnick said, according to the story. “We had the privilege of working with him on two shows. They were both joyous experiences. Our hearts and prayers go out to his wife and children at this time.”
