ABC Comedy Series Loses Showrunner

An ABC comedy series has lost its second showrunner in a few months. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Nastaran Dibai has exited "Malibu Country," after show creator Kevin Abbott departed last fall.

Dibai stepped in to replace Abbott in November, when Abbott exited to enter rehab. The bubble series has already finished production on its first season, and no decision has been made on who will be tapped as its new showrunner if the program is renewed, the story says.

"Malibu" has averaged 7 million total viewers and a 1.7 rating.

The move comes on the heels of a shakeup for another ABC show. As previously reported, “Revenge” creator Mike Kelley announced earlier this week that he’s stepping down as that show’s exec producer and showrunner.
