CNN’s ‘Reintroduce’ Ad Leaves Out Some Familiar Faces

Apr 9, 2013  •  Post A Comment

CNN has taken out an ad in The New York Times that asks readers to allow the network to "reintroduce ourselves," with accompanying photos of a dozen anchors and personalities, but what’s more interesting is who’s left out, reports Deadline.com.

The ad features established CNN stars such as Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer and Christiane Amanpour, along with new hires under new leader Jeff Zucker such as Jake Tapper and Chris Cuomo, the story says.

But it leaves out some other well-known names, including Candy Crowley and John King, the story says. It also doesn’t mention "Super-Size Me" director Morgan Spurlock, who was hired last year to host a new documentary series called "Inside Man." Lead congressional correspondent Dana Bash is another name that’s missing from the ad.

The piece ponders whether the omissions are people who don’t “need to be reintroduced, or are they being shown the door like Soledad O’Brien, Roland Martin and James Carville? Stay tuned.”
