Emmy-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth is now a key player in a new comedy project starring Matthew Broderick. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Chenoweth will play the sister of Broderick’s character in the new CBS pilot from Tad Quill (“Scrubs”).

“The untitled multicamera comedy centers on Jack (Broderick), a recently widowed father raising his 12-year-old son while jumping back into the dating pool,” the story reports. “Chenoweth, also a Broadway alum, will play Marnie, described as Jack’s ‘cute’ and ‘judgmental’ sister who works as a waitress.”

Veteran James Burrows will direct the pilot, with Quill writing and executive producing. CBS Television Studios is producing.

Chenoweth won an Emmy Award in 2009 for her supporting role on “Pushing Daisies.”
