An Academy Award-winning actor is working on a miniseries about escape artist Harry Houdini for History, reports EW.com’s Inside TV. News of the project involving Adrien Brody comes on the heels of the network’s success with two other miniseries projects, "The Bible" and "Hatfields & McCoys."

With a working title of "Houdini," the show has Gerald W. Abrams (the father of J.J. Abrams) attached as executive producer. For Brody, who won an Oscar for his performance in "The Pianist," the role marks a rare venture into television, the story notes.

Many of the details aren’t yet known, as the deal just closed, the piece adds.
