‘SNL’ Cast Member Lands Another Project — Will This Mean She’s Off the Show?

A cast member on "Saturday Night Live" has landed another TV project, raising the possibility that she will leave the NBC late-night sketch comedy show.

“SNL’s” Nasim Pedrad has been cast in an untitled NBC comedy pilot from comic John Mulaney and producer Lorne Michaels, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.

On the pilot, Pedrad will play a smart but lacking-in-direction grade school teacher. The project also stars Martin Short, an "SNL" alum himself, and Elliott Gould.

If the project receives a series order, Pedrad will leave "SNL," where she has worked since 2009. She’s known for celebrity impersonations on the show.
