Syfy had its highest-rated premiere for a scripted series in the key demo of viewers 18-49 since the 2006 debut of “Eureka,” TVLine.com reports. The new series “Defiance” raised the bar by delivering 1.3 million viewers in the demo for its premiere Monday night.
In total viewers, the show drew 2.7 million viewers, Syfy’s biggest premiere audience since "Warehouse 13" first aired in 2009, the story adds.
"Defiance" is set on a future Earth, where humans and aliens live together after terraforming and war scorched the planet.
“Warehouse 13” will lead out from “Defiance” on Syfy starting April 29, the piece notes.
