Olympic swimming champion Ryan Lochte, who was promoting his new E! show "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?," brought anchors of a Philadelphia morning show to tears and laughter with a silence-filled interview, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed.

Lochte struggled to answer some questions during the interview on Fox-owned WTXF-TV, and when asked what kind of pickup line he would use on a woman, his response was five seconds of silence, which as The Reporter notes is "an eternity in live TV."

The anchors kept things together until they signed off with Lochte, and then they started laughing. Anchor Sheinelle Jones was brought to tears from laughing so hard.

The other anchor, Mike Jerrick, said incredulously, "Seriously, how are they gonna get enough material [for an entire season of the show]?"

  1. What a vacuous dope! “There’s so much more to me than swimming — I like going out and having fun”…. good grief

  2. Who is the bigger Dope Lochte or the idiots that ask such stupid questions.

  3. The real idiots are the ones that approved this train wreck. Lochte is laughing all the way to the bank but he’s too stupid to know why and has no idea that it is very short-lived.
