"30 Rock" star Alec Baldwin has been tapped for a TV hosting job. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that Baldwin was hired by National Geographic to host its "Night of Exploration" programming block.

Baldwin will host shows that look at the "spirit of exploration," such as "Crossing the Ice," a two-hour special that tracks two Australians as they try to journey from the shore of Antarctica to the South Pole and back without assistance. Other episodes will include "Mystery Bear of the Arctic" and "Secrets of the Lost Gold."

Baldwin will join as host June 14. The programming block started airing in January.
