Angelina Jolie, who revealed she had a double mastectomy after finding out she was at high risk for breast cancer, has inspired CNN morning anchor Zoraida Sambolin to talk about her own health situation, reports People.

The CNN anchor revealed her struggle with breast cancer on Tuesday after reading Jolie’s piece in The New York Times about her medical treatment.

"This inspired me to talk," Sambolin, 47, said. She said she was diagnosed three weeks ago and has decided on a double mastectomy as the best course of treatment.

"I didn’t want anyone feeling sorry for me," she said. "I didn’t want to be emotional wreck on air. I tried to figure out the best way. Then when I saw this, I thought, ‘Wow, OK.’"

Sambolin also said: "I have two beautiful kids. I want to live for them. You would cut off any appendage to see them grow up."
