NBC Cancels Drama Series

May 9, 2013  •  Post A Comment

NBC made a number of programming moves, including canceling a drama series. Deadline.com reports that the network pulled the plug on the midseason drama "Deception."

While NBC executives liked the show, it had a tough time finding its footing in a crowded field, including fending off comparisons to ABC’s "Revenge," the story reports.

Additionally, NBC passed over seven pilots, including the Charlize Theron-produced "Hatfields & McCoys," one of its more high-profile projects, TheWrap notes.

Other pilots that got passed over include "The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives"; "Joe, Joe and Jane"; "Drop Off"; "Holding Patterns"; "Bloodline"; and "The Sixth Gun." NBC will announce its schedule Sunday.

Nineteen pilots remain in contention, including J.J. Abrams’ "Believe."
