DirecTV’s first original scripted series has received a second-season renewal. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the satellite service has given the go-ahead for another season of "Rogue."

The drama stars Thandie Newton as an undercover detective hunting for her son’s killer. It will start production this summer on a second 10-episode run that will premiere in 2014, the story says.

"We are thrilled that our first venture into original programming resonated with our subscribers, who enthusiastically tuned in to ‘Rogue’ each week,” said Chris Long, senior vice president of entertainment and production at DirecTV.
