Hip-hop star Diddy, aka Sean Combs, spoofed the period drama "Downton Abbey" with a Funny or Die skit called "Downton Diddy," and the joke just might get him a role on the actual PBS show, reports The New York Times.

In the spoof, Diddy plays a nobleman named Lord Wolcott, who appears in key scenes of the show, and proclaims himself the new owner of the manor. (To see it, click here.)

In a talk before the spoof, Diddy tells fans, "Yes, I am an Abbey-head." He also tells the Dowager Countess that one of her putdowns was "a little bitchy."

The spoof charmed creator Julian Fellowes, who told The Telegraph that he "absolutely adored" the skit and is considering giving Diddy a cameo role in an episode.

“I’d never say never, though I imagine he’d steal the scene, even if it was a small part,” Fellowes said. Of the skit, he said, "I loved that, I thought it was fabulous."
