Actor James Gandolfini was struck down during a father-son trip, TMZ.com reports. As previously reported, the "Sopranos" star was on vacation in Rome when he died, with his cause of death not immediately known. An HBO representative said the cause may have been a heart attack, although other reports cited a stroke.
Gandolfini was traveling with his son, Michael, who just graduated from eighth grade. The pair were spending some quality time together before Gandolfini was to attend the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily.
Michael’s mother and Gandolfini’s first wife, Marcy Wudarski, immediately flew to Italy to be with her son, the story adds.
