The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has named a new president and chief operating officer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucy Hood, the executive director of the Institute for Communication Technology at USC and former president of Fox Mobile Entertainment, has been given the job.
Hood, who replaces retiring President Alan Perris, will report to TV Academy Chairman Bruce Rosenblum and Foundation Chairman Jerry Petry, the piece notes. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of both the academy and its Foundation.
Hood will work on the academy’s digital strategy, corporate sponsorships and marketing, among other duties.
“In a time when the television industry is experiencing so much change and evolution, I look forward to helping the academy adapt and evolve as well," Hood said.
