Disney Channel announced Monday that it is renewing one of its series. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the channel will bring back "Gravity Falls" for a second season.
The animated series has been a hit with kids in several demographics during its first season, ranking as the No. 1 animated series with children 2-11, 6-12 and 9-14, the story says, citing Nielsen Television Index.
The show tracks fraternal twins Dipper, voiced by Jason Ritter, and Mabel Pines, voiced by Kristen Schaal, as they spend the summer with their great uncle Stan in the town of Gravity Falls. Stan runs a museum of curiosities called the Mystery Shack, and each episode ends with a secret message, the story notes.
"’Gravity Falls’ is mystery, comedy and weird all rolled into one unique show — there is nothing else like it," Eric Coleman, senior vice president of original series for Disney Television Animation, said in a statement.
