NBC’s "The Sing-Off" has added a four-time Grammy Award nominee as a judge, and announced that the show’s host, Nick Lachey, will return, Deadline.com reports.

The new judge is Jewel, the story reports. The 39-year-old singer-songwriter has reportedly sold more than 27 million albums worldwide since releasing her debut album, "Pieces of You," in 1995.

NBC, which recently ordered a fourth cycle of the singing competition, is reverting the program back to its original format, slated to air as a holiday strip over several nights, the piece notes. When the network scheduled it as a two-hour regular weekly show in 2011, the ratings were underwhelming.

The program will feature top a cappella groups who compete to win $100,000 and a recording contract.
