The new deal between actress Lindsay Lohan and Oprah Winfrey’s OWN cable net is reportedly worth millions for Lohan, whose career has sputtered in recent years as her struggle with substance abuse has attracted more headlines than her acting.
TMZ.com reports that Lohan will receive about $2 million from the Oprah Winfrey Network for the deal to star in an eight-part reality show about her struggles and her plans.
Going to rehab might have helped Lohan secure the big payday, given that her personal drama helped ratchet up interest in her, the piece notes. Lohan signed the agreement, which will provide her with two assistants and a stylist, at the Betty Ford Center, according to sources cited by TMZ.
In addition to the reality show, Lohan is set for what promises to be a high-interest interview with Winfrey, set to air in August on OWN, as previously reported. The reality show is on tap for 2014.
