NBC’s high-profile fall comedy "The Michael J. Fox Show" has cast a high-profile actress as a rival character to Fox’s news correspondent, reports EW.com’s Inside TV.
Anne Heche will play Susan Rodriguez-Jones, an anchor at NBC 4, where Fox’s character Mike is returning to work after spending years battling Parkinson’s, the story notes. Her character is a rival to Mike, after they worked together years earlier and she was involved in a suspicious incident in which she "lost" Mike in the Everglades, the piece adds.
Heche previously starred in NBC’s "Save Me" and was a regular on HBO’s "Hung." She broke out as a young actress on the NBC soap opera "Another World," earning a nomination for a Daytime Emmy in 1989 for outstanding juvenile female in a drama series before winning the Daytime Emmy two years later for outstanding younger actress in a drama series.
She later received a Primetime Emmy nomination for outstanding supporting actress in a miniseries or TV movie for the 2004 Lifetime production "Gracie’s Choice."
