A popular fantasy trilogy has been optioned by New Regency Productions and 20th Century Fox Television for a TV project, reports Deadline.com. The book series is "The Kingkiller Chronicle."
The novels, by Patrick Rothfuss, are about a young man named Kvothe who wants to get revenge on the mysterious group that murdered his family, the story notes. The first book, "The Name of the Wind," was published in 2007, with the second book, "The Wise Man’s Fear," published in 2011. Both became New York Times bestsellers.
The third novel, "The Doors of Stone," is due next year.
The TV project will be adapted and executive produced by Eric Heisserer, who wrote the 2011 feature prequel "The Thing," with Arnon Milchan, Andrew Plotkin, Brad Weston and Robert Lawrence also executive producing.
