CBS won the broadcast ratings battle Monday night, based on Nielsen overnights for both the key 18-49 demo and total viewers. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that the CBS win came despite a significant drop for the network’s key summer drama series "Under the Dome."

"Dome" was the top show of the night on broadcast with a 2.8 average rating in viewers 18-49, down a half-point from the previous week. The rest of the CBS lineup consisted of repeat programming.

NBC’s new supernatural drama series "Siberia," about a fictional reality show, premiered against "Under the Dome" and ABC’s "Mistresses" at 10 p.m. and managed only a 1.1 average in 18-49. Also premiering on NBC was the two-hour fifth-season opener of "American Ninja Warrior," which delivered a 1.7 average — off seven-tenths from last year’s season premiere.

Head-to-head against NBC’s "Ninja," ABC’s two-hour "The Bachelorette" dipped two-tenths from last week to a 1.8 average in the 18-49 demo, just enough to squeeze out a win over "Ninja." Leading out from "Bachelorette," "Mistresses" ticked up one-tenth from last week’s series low to a 1.2.

Fox aired repeats, along with a fresh installment of "The Goodwin Games," which equaled the 0.6 average of last week’s show in viewers 18-49.

For prime time overall, CBS led the way in adults 18-49 with a 1.8 average, followed by ABC (1.6 average), NBC (1.5), Univision (1.4) and Fox (0.6). CBS won total viewers with 7.1 million, ahead of ABC (5.5 million), NBC (4.4 million), Univision (3.5 million) and Fox (1.6 million).

  1. Part of the problem is some people DVR everything, like me!! So sometimes it is weeks, if not, months before I watch some programs so I miss a lot of the advertisements for shows coming on. Just found out about Under the Dome, so I need to check that one out. Now I see, Siberia on NBC via this article. Never heard of it before so I need to check that one out as well. A supernatural drama series sound interesting!
