Universal Television has a deal to develop a series based on a comic book. Deadline.com reports that the company will develop "Clone," based on the comic from Robert Kirkman’s imprint Skybound, which is written and created by David Schulner.

The deal was announced during a Skybound panel at Comic-Con, and is part of Schulner’s overall deal at NBCUniversal, where he created the short-lived NBC midseason drama "Do No Harm," which was pulled after two low-rated episodes.

"Clone" is a thriller with a sci-fi angle, asking questions about identity and nature vs. nurture, the story says. Skybound publishes Kirkman’s "The Walking Dead" graphic novel, as well as publications such as "Thief of Thieves" and "Invincible."
