Guy Fieri, the popular host of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," will host a new series on the Food Network.
Fieri "stars as host of the new supermarket-themed cooking competition ‘Guy’s Grocery Games.’ Now in production, the 13-episode series is set to premiere in October 2013 on Food Network," the programmer announced.
The announcement continues, "Set in a grocery store, four talented chefs compete against each other in three cooking challenges, as they must navigate their way through the aisles adhering to a number of ‘real-world’ culinary challenges to create tasty dishes. From shopping on a budget to substituting ingredients when the essentials are out-of-stock to cooking a complicated dish with five items or less, the chefs’ culinary and improvisation skills are put to the test. In the end, the food does the talking, and one-by-one the losing chefs are eliminated by a rotating list of guest judges. The last chef standing goes on a shopping spree of a lifetime to make big bucks. It’s the most fun cooking competition ever set in a grocery store."
I can do without him. The restaurants he visits on Triple-D are interesting, still…
