"Duck Dynasty" star Willie Robertson addressed a report that he’s being courted to run in a special election for a seat that will be vacated by Rep. Rodney Alexander (R.-La.), reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.
His response to the report? "It’s news to me," he said on a visit to Fox News’ "The Five."
"I’m kinda busy right now," he said. "I’ve got a lot of stuff going on."
Alexander’s office replied that the congressman is a fan of the series and is "proud of the positive attention" it has brought Ouachita Parish, the story adds.
As previously reported, Republican operatives were said to be interested in getting Robertson to run for the seat, even though they doubted he would leave his television and business roles.
