Fox Sports has announced the appointment of a new executive vice president, marketing. The company promoted Robert Gottlieb, senior VP and head of marketing, to the post.
Gottlieb, who was in his previous position since February, is credited with developing and orchestrating the expansive launch campaign for Fox Sports 1.
Announcing the promotion were Fox Sports Co-Presidents and COOs Randy Freer and Eric Shanks, to whom Gottlieb reports.
"In this new role, Gottlieb is responsible for all aspects of Fox Sports’ on-air, off-air and consumer marketing efforts including television, print, online, radio and outdoor creative for Fox Sports; Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2, America’s new sports networks; Fox Deportes; and Fox Sports Digital assets," the company said in its announcement.
Said Freer: “We appointed Robert head of marketing with every confidence that he would maintain the high level of creative excellence that has been a Fox Sports trademark since 1994, elevating our linear and digital assets to new heights. Clearly, he has exceeded our expectations. The marketing campaign for the launch of Fox Sports 1 Robert developed and implemented with his team over the last several months was nothing short of brilliant, helping establish a clear brand identity in a very crowded marketplace.”
