After former presidential candidate Newt Gingrich criticized "the media elite," he’s preparing to join CNN’s revived "Crossfire" — a stump from which he says he hopes "to move it to the right," reports The New York Times.
The show, which will return to TV eight years after the original program was canceled, represents a gamble by CNN that an audience exists for a program spotlighting debate between the right and the left. Other hosts include liberals Van Jones and Stephanie Cutter, while Gingrich’s fellow conservative is S.E. Cupp.
It’s also a bet that the show can juice up CNN’s evening ratings, the story adds. Still, Gingrich told The Times that the new "Crossfire" will succeed if only 1% of American viewers tune in.

Here is an idea. Rather than moving the media to spin either the right or left…how about having them report the news fairly and accurately and leave political ideology out of it.

Newt Gingrich is a stupid person’s conception of what a smart person is. Newt is, however, not smart. He sounds like he is, but he isn’t.
I agree with jsm1963. This will be fun. It also won’t last long, since Newt has a commitment problem. He can’t stick with wives or religion for very long.
Oh dear how I long for the days of REAL civil discussion by true brain power like William F Buckley opposite Daniel Patrick Moynihan. Listening to those guys you could actually hear both sides of a story and even change your mind from time to time. But that’s what the fairness doctrine did and much like anti-trust laws and banking regulations, they have been thrown out to pursue more cash at the detriment of us all. God save our republic.
