HBO Films is putting the final touches on a deal for a project that will be a star vehicle for actress Cate Blanchett. Deadline.com reports that the pay-cable network is close to a deal with actress and writer Julie Delpy to adapt the Marisa Acocella Marchetto memoir "Cancer Vixen."
Besides starring in the project, Blanchett is on board as an executive producer, along with Maven Pictures partners Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray, the story says.
Delpy recently starred in the Richard Linklater-directed "Before Midnight," which she also co-wrote. Her other co-writing credits include "Before Sunset" and "2 Days in New York."
