In a competitive bidding situation, NBC has bought a drama from producer Greg Berlanti and novelist and feature writer Seth Grahame-Smith, reports Deadline.com.
The prison drama, "Paradise," is set in the late 21st century in Las Vegas, which is now the world’s largest maximum-security prison and called Paradise, the story says. Dr. Matthew Turner is sent to the prison after being wrongly convicted of a murder, but hatches a plan to escape, the story says.
Grahame-Smith wrote the 2009 bestselling novel "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies," as well as "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," which he adapted for Tim Burton.
Berlanti is behind a string of TV projects including "Everwood," "Arrow" and "Dawson’s Creek."
