One of the stars of the NBC dramedy series "Parenthood" has received a script commitment for a TV project based on her debut novel. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the CW is moving forward with the project, based on actress Lauren Graham’s book "Someday, Someday, Maybe."

Graham will write the script and executive produce the drama for Warner Bros. Television, while Ellen DeGeneres will also executive produce along with Jeff Kleeman through the pair’s A Very Good Production, the story adds.

The drama is about a woman with half a year left to make good on her plan to find success as an actress in New York City. The commitment means Graham is returning to the network where she starred on "Gilmore Girls."
