For fans of the spy dramedy "Chuck," which aired on NBC from 2007-2012, there hasn’t been much news since the show went off the air more than a year and a half ago. But here’s a promising development: Deadline.com reports that Fox has ordered a father-daughter police drama from two people who were involved in the show — "Chuck" executive producer Matt Miller and Zev Borow, a former writer on the show.
"Bad Guys," written by Borow with Miller supervising, is about Lea Morris, a single mom and an NYPD detective, who is dealing with her recently paroled father. The logline says, "’Bad Guys’ affirms the ancient truth: You can’t pick your family, but with any luck you can arrest them.”
The project also reunites Borow and Miller at Fox, after both worked on the network’s "Human Target." Miller was a showrunner on that program, while Borow was a writer.
