CBS’s "Two and a Half Men" has cast an actress to portray Charlie Harper’s lesbian daughter, a character who potentially will fill a void left by the departure of original co-lead Angus T. Jones, reports Deadline.com.

The actress is Amber Tamblyn, who is known for television roles in "Joan of Arcadia" and "House." She has also appeared in films such as "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" and "The Grudge 2."

Tamblyn will play Jenny, the illegitimate daughter of Charlie Harper, who was portrayed by Charlie Sheen before he was fired from the show. The character has moved to Los Angeles for an acting career and wants to reconnect with her family.

The character is set to recur in five episodes, but that could be extended into a co-lead if the character is popular, the story notes.

  1. In other words, this is the beginning of the end.

  2. shark has been jumped

  3. No, if her character is lesbian, and she’s hot, the male demo will continue or get stronger. Shrewd move, for a stupid show.

  4. It’s a way to make sure a parade of hot, half-dressed females continues to drift through the house to appease that portion of the show’s audience as they’ve cornered themselves with Alan’s personality and Walden’s search for a relationship.
