ABC has renewed a summer drama series. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the network will bring back "Mistresses" for a second season.
The series rated as the summer’s No. 2 scripted drama in adults 18-49, trailing only CBS’s breakout hit "Under the Dome." "Mistresses" stars Alyssa Milano in a remake of a British series with the same title, and its run this summer was geared toward keeping viewers interested during a traditionally rerun-filled time of year, the story notes.
While the show originally was scheduled against "Under the Dome," ABC shifted the drama to an hour later to avoid the conflict, showing a vote of confidence in the series, the piece adds.
