A drama series that just aired its last episode may be resurrected as a movie. Deadline.com reports that a movie version of "Copper," which aired the series finale Sunday on BBC America, is in consderation.

Co-creator and executive producer Tom Fontana and executive producers Barry Levinson and Tom Kelly are mulling a movie version of the show, the piece reports.

"The extensive story arc work Fontana did on a third season has the veteran producer eyeing revamping the material for a movie, sources say, with the potential big-screen version said to look at examining life in America after the death of Abraham Lincoln and the years of Reconstruction," the story reports.

As previously reported, BBC America canceled the show, which was the network’s highest-rated drama when it was renewed last fall for a second season. The series lost momentum after the start of its second season.
