One of the leads on the long-running Fox medical drama series "House" has landed the starring role on Bravo’s adaptation of "The Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce."

The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Lisa Edelstein, who played Dr. Lisa Cuddy on "House," got the part.

The project is from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" writer and producer Marti Noxon and based on the book series by Vicki Iovine. Edelstein will play Vicki, the best-selling writer of a self-help series who is hiding her break from her husband, the story notes.

Noxon will write the pilot, with Dawn Olmstead, Iovine and The Weinstein Co. TV President Meryl Poster executive producing.

Edelstein is about to appear in a multiple-episode arc on ABC’s "Castle" when the drama returns Sept. 23. Since "House" ended its run in May of last year, she has been guest-starring on a number of shows, including "House of Lies" on Showtime and "The Good Wife" on CBS.

If "The Girlfriend’s Guide" moves forward, it will mark Edelstein’s first regular series role since "House," the report notes.
