A controversial new music video by Miley Cyrus, which can be seen by clicking here, is off to a record start with its Internet viewing, the U.K. publication The Mirror reports.

The video for "Wrecking Ball" features a naked Cyrus riding provocatively on a large wrecking ball, along with a number of other suggestive shots. It also has Cyrus again rolling out her tongue — which figured prominently in her heavily buzzed about recent appearance on MTV’s Video Music Awards. This time the tongue works its magic mainly on a sledgehammer.

The Mirror reports that "Wrecking Ball" received more than 12.3 million views on the YouTube/Vevo platform in its first 24 hours, breaking a short-lived record set by the boy band One Direction with the clip for its single "Best Song Ever."
