The results of a new poll show that all of the top four television shows named as U.S. viewers’ favorites are on the same network. MediaPost reports that four CBS shows top the list, which is based on a Harris poll of almost 2,300 adults.

The top shows, in order, are “The Big Bang Theory,” “NCIS,” “Criminal Minds” and “CSI." The results reflect, to some extent, the overall position of CBS as the most-viewed network, the report notes.

"NBC’s ‘Law & Order: SVU’ finished fifth, followed by a pair of cable shows in AMC’s ‘Breaking Bad’ and A&E’s ‘Duck Dynasty,’" the report adds. "Fox’s ‘Family Guy’ and ABC’s ‘Modern Family’ and another CBS series, ‘Person of Interest,’ round out the top 10."

The online survey, conducted in August, asks the question: “Thinking about the shows that are currently on television, which two or three are your favorite shows?”

While CBS came in on top in the poll and in the ratings, the report notes significant differences between the two measures.

"The leaders don’t have much correlation with ratings last season," the piece reports. "Using household averages, by one measure ‘NCIS’ and ‘Big Bang’ finished first and third, respectively. But ‘Criminal Minds’ and ‘CSI’ finished in ties for 17th and 19th, respectively."

The piece also notes that “Law & Order: SVU” finished in a tie for 53rd, but it adds: "Reruns on the likes of MyNetworkTV may have helped boost its popularity. So might legacy appreciation for the ‘Law & Order’ franchise when it comes to a survey."

"The Big Bang Theory" came in as the favorite program among men, while "NCIS" was tops among women, the report adds.

The upcoming season doesn’t necessarily shape up well for CBS, based on the poll, the article notes. The piece says the poll indicates "ABC’s ‘Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’ is the new series that viewers are most looking forward to watching, followed by NBC’s ‘Michael J. Fox Show,’ Fox’s ‘Sleepy Hollow,’ CBS’s ‘The Crazy Ones’ and ABC’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.’"
