An actor from the NBC drama "Kings" has been cast as the lead in a new Syfy drama project. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the lead in "Dominion" goes to Chris Egan.

The drama pilot is based on characters in the 2010 feature film "Legion," the piece notes. Tom Wisdom and Alan Dale have also nabbed key roles in the new production.

"From Universal Cable Productions, ‘Dominion’ is described as a supernatural action drama set 25 years in the future after a war between an army of angels and mankind has transformed the world. The drama follows the journey of a rebellious young soldier who discovers he’s the unlikely savior of humanity," the story reports.

The report adds: "Egan will play Alex Lannen, an orphan with a rebellious and protective streak. He’s a grunt soldier in Michael’s Archangel Corp but destined for more than his lowly classification in Vega’s post-Extermination War society might indicate."

Wisdom, who appeared in "300," will play the archangels’ greatest warrior, and Dale, seen in "The O.C.," is set to play a general who is a leader of the humans.

"’Legion’ co-writer/director Scott Stewart will direct the pilot and executive produce alongside Bold Films’ Michel Litvak and David Lancaster. Vaun Wilmott, who is also penning Syfy’s miniseries development project ‘Ringworld,’ will write and co-exec produce," the report notes.
