Oprah Winfrey had an "intense showdown" with actress Lindsay Lohan — who’s working on a project for Winfrey’s OWN cable channel — after Lohan failed to show up for work on the project, TMZ.com reports, adding that the confrontation "scared the crap out of" Lohan.

As previously reported, Lohan will receive $2 million as part of her deal with OWN, which includes an eight-hour docuseries that focuses on Lohan’s attempt to right her career after a series of disasters. The showdown reportedly happened at Lohan’s mother’s house, with Winfrey telling the actress that she wouldn’t receive her big paycheck unless she got her act together, the story notes.

"We’ve confirmed … Lindsay was a disaster at the beginning of the project — at times just being a no-show — which doesn’t work in Oprah’s world," TMZ reports.

The piece adds: "Our sources say Lindsay had a bunch of excuses … she was spending time trying to find an apartment in NYC, she had other projects she was trying to finish, there were ‘miscommunications’ between her people and the folks at OWN, yada yada."

But in the end, the report notes, Oprah made the ultimatum clear and Lindsay got the message — and appears to be back on track toward earning that $2 million.

"We’re told Lindsay is now cooperating and things have been running okay for nearly a month, but Oprah is still watching Lindsay like a hawk," TMZ notes.
