The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the winners of the 34th annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards, with CBS picking up more hardware than any other outlet.

The network claimed 12 Emmys, leading PBS with nine, HBO with six and CNN with three. The only other multiple winners were National Geographic Channel and NBC, with two apiece.

Claiming one Emmy win apiece were ABC, AXS TV, BBC World News, Center for Investigative Reporting, Discovery Channel, JFK Presidential Library & Museum, The New York Times and Science Channel.

Regional reporting winners were KING 5 TV in Seattle and WBZ in Boston.

PBS’s "Frontline" was the most honored program, with seven Emmys — one apiece for the reports "The Battle for Syria," "Big Sky, Big Money," "Frontline Fall Preview: How Come?," "Inside Japan’s Nuclear Meltdown," "The Interrupters," "Money, Power and Wall Street," and "Opium Brides."

CBS’s "60 Minutes" took home six Emmys, including two apiece for the reports "Joy in the Congo" and "Killing Bin Laden," along with single trophies for "Aleppo" and "A Hard Landing."

Among HBO Documentary Films’ six Emmys were two for "Saving Face" and one for "In Tahrir Square: 18 Days of Egypt’s Unfinished Revolution."

"CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley" won three Emmys, including outstanding coverage of a breaking news story in a regularly scheduled newscast, for "The Fight for Idlib."

  1. CBS News except for a few stumbles after the bean counters took over has always been a classy operation. I always wanted to work for them.
