A former executive at Fox Networks has joined CBS Corp., where he will focus on carriage fees for the company’s properties, CBS announced today.
Jonathan Sarrow, who was vice president, distribution, national accounts, for Fox Networks, was named senior vice president of television networks distribution for CBS Corp.
Ray Hopkins, the president of the department, made the announcement.
Said Hopkins: “Jonathan brings a wealth of industry experience to this position, including valuable relationships with our distribution partners. Carriage fees are an increasingly important part of CBS’s growth strategy, and as we maximize the value of our content, it’s important we have a veteran like Jonathan helping negotiate these deals. I look forward to working with him in this role.”
The company noted in its announcement: "Sarrow will focus on the negotiation of carriage fees of CBS-owned properties with distribution platforms such as cable, satellite and telco companies."
At Fox Networks, Sarrow "managed the relationships of major distributors across multiple platforms," CBS noted. "He previously worked as Vice President, Business Affairs, where he concentrated on distribution negotiations and potential acquisitions, as well as regulatory issues, contract compliance and operations. Before that, Sarrow worked as Director, International Distribution for New Line Cinema, where he handled international sales and administration of licensing for the company’s film library."
Sarrow will be based in New York, relocating from the Los Angeles area.
