One of the stars of the recently canceled ABC medical drama "Private Practice" is joining the cast of an FX series. Deadline.com reports that Kate Walsh is signing on with "Fargo," a 10-episode series based on Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 movie.
The Coen brothers are executive producing the TV series, which will feature a new story and characters. Walsh will portray trophy wife Gina, who has twin sons. The project is from FX Productions and MGM Television.
"Private Practice," a spinoff of "Grey’s Anatomy," went off the air in January of this year after six seasons on ABC. Walsh is also appearing in the Neil LaBute series "Full Circle" on DirecTV.
Actors Joey King and Josh Close have also reportedly joined the new "Fargo" project.
