"Community" co-executive producer Erik Sommers has sold comedies to ABC and CBS, The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports.

Sommers is working with David Caspe of "Happy Endings" on "Roommates," a comedy that has a script plus penalty order at CBS. Sommers and Caspe will write and executive produce the project, which is about a ladies’ man who takes in a man whose life is a mess, the story says.

Jamie Tarses of "Happy Endings" will executive produce the comedy for Sony Pictures Television, the piece adds.

Separately, ABC has bought an emergency-room comedy that will be written and executive produced by Sommers. The network has given the untitled project a script commitment.

The comedy is about a young doctor who starts her career at an inner-city hospital filled with eccentric doctors and nurses.
