An actress who has been seen on the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men" has received a promotion from the show. E! Online reports that Amber Tamblyn, who joined the show this year in a guest role, will now be a series regular.

"Tamblyn plays Jenny, the illegitimate daughter of Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen) who moved back to Los Angeles to try her hand at acting and find whatever family she has left," the story reports. "She moved in with Walden (Ashton Kutcher) and her uncle Alan (Jon Cryer). And yes, she is just like her father. Her two loves are booze and women."

Show creator Chuck Lorre has described Jenny as "a pretty remarkably strong and ballsy character" and "a chip off the old block," the story notes.

He added: "The idea that she loves women seems to be something that just felt right."

The report adds: "Tamblyn’s TV acting credits include ‘House’ and ‘Joan of Arcadia,’ the latter of which earned her an Emmy and Golden Globe Award nomination. Her film resume includes as ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,’ ‘127 Hours’ and ‘Django Unchained.’"
