After taking some time presumably to think it over, A&E has made up its mind about bringing back a drama series. Deadline.com reports that the cable channel renewed “Longmire” for a third season, ordering an additional 10 episodes.
The official renewal “took awhile,” the story notes, even though the show’s executive producer John Coveny tweeted in August that the third season had been given a nod.
“In its second season, ‘Longmire’ averaged 3.7 million total viewers with the season finale episode August 26 delivering a season high of 4.4 million total viewers,” the story notes.
Robert Taylor stars as Longmire, the sheriff of a remote Wyoming county, with Katee Sackhoff playing his deputy.
