Amanda Bynes Stabilized, Expected Home By Christmas

Troubled actress Amanda Bynes will be home by Christmas, as a combination of medication and psychological counseling has stabilized her, reports TMZ.com.

Bynes has been at a Malibu rehab facility since September. Her release will happen next month, with the actress slated to go home with her mother, who will provide supervision.

"We’re told — aside from the fact that the meds and therapy appear to be working — doctors are concerned that Amanda is going stir crazy," the report adds. "She’s not allowed to go outside because paparazzi are hanging out at the facility and the staff is worried if Amanda is around other patients and pictures are taken, it will compromise the others."

In August Bynes was denied a request to put an end to her extended psychiatric hold when a judge determined that her mental condition was precarious enough to require further hospitalization. Her problems made headlines when she started a fire in a residential driveway in July.
