Producers of Fox’s “Family Guy” are warning that a countdown clock promising a “special announcement from Brian,” the show’s recently deceased dog, is a hoax, reports Deadline.com.

As previously reported, the dog, Brian Griffin, was killed in the show’s latest episode, causing fan outrage and a petition to bring him back.

Two days after Brian’s death, the countdown clock appeared, Deadline notes.

“The producers have confirmed that the ‘special announcement from Brian’ website is a hoax and was not created by anyone connected to the show, studio or network,” studio 20th Century Fox TV told Deadline.
