ReelzChannel has placed a hefty order for a talk show starring a performer with a long track record in television and the recording industry.
Deadline.com reports that the cable channel picked up 80 of the 150 produced episodes of “Marie!,” the Hallmark Channel talk show from Marie Osmond. The show will air starting Jan. 6 at 10 a.m.
The network has the option to buy more episodes, while “Marie!” producer Associated Television International is still looking at a potential syndication sale, the story adds.
Osmond co-hosted the ABC variety show "Donny & Marie" in the 1970s along with her brother Donny Osmond. The pair also had a syndicated talk show of the same name that aired from 1998-2000.
Marie Osmond has been a solo recording artist, a part of the family singing group the Osmonds, and half of a singing duet with brother Donny. As a solo artist, her cover of "Paper Roses" in 1973 reached No. 1 on the Billboard country charts.
