Starz is developing a Reagan-era drama with Owen Wilson and Rene Balcer of "Law & Order," The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports. The project is called "WonderWorld."
Balcer will write, executive produce and work as the showrunner if the project goes on to series. Regina Lee is producing the project for Wilson’s new TV production group, the story notes. The project is about two agents who infiltrate the Mob-run porn industry of the 1980s.
The piece notes: "For Starz, ‘WonderWorld’ comes as the premium cable network looks to have 75 hours of original programming on its airwaves in the coming years. The network recently gave an early second-season renewal to Michael Bay’s pirate drama ‘Black Sails’ ahead of its freshman season premiere. It also has 50 Cent-produced drama ‘Power’ and fantasy drama ‘Outlander’ set for 2014 along with the second season of ‘DaVinci’s Demons.’"
